Arohanui Hospice has a short stay inpatient unit (IPU) located at 1 Heretaunga Street Palmerston North.
While the majority of individuals receiving care from Arohanui Hospice can be effectively supported without the need for inpatient hospice admission, there are instances where patients may be referred by their specialist doctor, hospice nurse, or general practitioner. These referrals typically occur when there is a necessity for short-term stay to address pain management and complex symptom control.
Dedicated to addressing your unique requirements, our team of specialist nurses, doctors, social workers, and family support staff invest time in identifying your specific needs. We closely collaborate with you, your family/whanau, and your community care team to ensure that your treatment and care are tailored to your individual needs. If admitted to the Inpatient Unit, you will have access to the comprehensive range of support services provided by Arohanui Hospice. The duration of your stay in the Inpatient Unit will be determined based on your specific needs. However, in general, most stays range from 3 to 7 days.
